Review: Maison Close Various Artists

New Parisian label Maison Close Records has had its first release on February 22nd. The compilation features a strong mixture of rising artists like Lacchesi & Darzack and some international including Jeanne. The VA will be available exclusively on Bandcamp.

Soul Edifice's 'Doom Razor' is a dystopian breakbeat track with elements of 90's detroit electro that shares the quality of Drexciya. Perfect comedown tune that would be served well when the sun is rising. It has a melancholic acid feel but it dream like. I would categorise this mesmerising piece as a low key banger.

Kuss's 'K004' has pounding kicks with an industrial feel but depictions of rave vocals that illuminates the track. It's an eclectic mixture of styles that would please any dj using this weapon. DJ Varsovie 'Cancelled Love' has a plethora of elements on it's canvas and serves its impetus desires.

Mind Matter's 'Faint light' is an enthralling piece that would electrify any body with its pulsating rhythms. ILLNURSE creates another EBM anthem with 'Date With Ket'. Darzack & Lacchesi's 'Stephenson' begins with dynamic metal percussive elements and a huge kick comes swiping in with eurphoric synths building into an acidic eruption.

And to nicely finish off the VA Jeanne's 'Abandon All' gives us a distorted acid bomb that would devastate any dancefloor. Overall a very strong VA from EBM to techno that will satisfy most tastes in these styles. You can purchase the VA here.
