MOTZ AID LDN x MAP
As part of our two-part MOTZ AID series, we're hosting a party with friends of MOTZ to raise money for MAP, a platform which provides immediate medical aid to those in need at times of crisis, while also developing local capacity and skills to ensure development of the Palestinian healthcare system.
We chose MAP for our London event to support the health and dignity of Palestinians and speak out about the conditions Palestinian's continue to face. Through MAP's campaigns in the UK and worldwide, their vision is to remove the political impediments to Palestinian health and dignity.
Last month was Breast Cancer Awareness month. Coping with such an illness is harrowing enough for any woman, and for Palestinian women, there's a number of brutal challenges, from checkpoints to permits, which prevent women receiving treatment for breast cancer in the occupied Palestinian territory.
Separation between mother and child by blockade is another issue since the closure of Gaza, preventing parents from accompanying their children to hospital in East Jerusalem.
These are some of the issues which really resonate with us here at MOTZ so funds raised on Friday will help develop programmes to provide access to essential health services and build local knowledge. In times of humanitarian emergency, MAP are ready to respond rapidly with aid and assistance.
