Collin Strange - Acid Non Musica Review

Acid Non Musica, the brand new EP release on Domenico Crisci's label, Summa Cum Laude, comes from cult the Seattle based, underground techno producer Collin Strange and greets us with a wall of noise, distortion and pummelling 909 kicks intertwined with 303 acid rifts. Collin has been a longstanding presence in the New York underground techno scene since the 90s so it’s no surprise he has created a sound that is dark and unrelenting formed from bass-drum driven, hard techno origins.

Each track hits you differently but the pick of the lot has to be 'Next to Nothing' with its unique sound textures with a huge pace drive and crunchy acid flow throughout. Each track utilises cold, cultivated and inhuman characteristics to further instil the industrial sound to a point where it sits close to the edge of EBM territory.

Overall the EP delivers an irresistible dancing machine collection of cold cut tracks to the industrial world. It's just been released and is waiting to be whacked out at some post-apocalyptic rave.

Distribution by Triple Vision.
